Knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthcare workers regarding dengue fever in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran

Background Dengue fever is a rapidly emerging infection worldwide with high public health burden. Adequate training of healthcare workers essential to warrant the timely provision services improve outcome dengue management. Methods This an analytical cross-sectional study, conducted assess knowledge, attitudes and practice (KAP) regarding from April 2021 March 2022 in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran. Data was collected using researcher-made structured questionnaire, prepared as Google Forms, sent target groups through social media email. analysis performed by SPSS 22 software descriptive inferential statistics (Chi-square) at significant level 5%. Results Most respondents had heard about (83.8%); (32.7%) academic education (25%) were main sources information. Respondents less knowledge associated symptoms (52%) than prevention control (69%), transmission (72.2%) clinical management (81%). Based on 70% cut-off point, majority participants good attitude (81%) (73%). However, only 49.6% showed local transmission. A difference observed between occupation; gender ( p < 0.05). Conclusion The results this study revealed gaps some dimensions KAP workers, therefore, greater focus should be placed future programs raise leading sound behavior for adequate dengue.
